Ubisoft will unveil two hours of gameplay from Assassin's Creed Shadows tomorrow

Get ready for a deep dive into Assassin's Creed Shadows! This upcoming installment transports players to feudal Japan, placing them amidst the thrilling conflicts and political intrigue of the samurai era. The livestream will showcase protagonists Naoe and Yasuke in action, tackling quests, exploring the Harima Province, and confronting formidable foes. Developers will also be on hand to answer viewer questions, offering insights into their creative process and vision for this latest entry.

Originally slated for a March 20, 2025 release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, Assassin's Creed Shadows has been delayed. According to industry insider Tom Henderson, this postponement is due to a combination of factors. These include addressing historical and cultural inaccuracies, further polishing the game, and refining certain narrative elements involving Yasuke (contrary to earlier speculation, his character will remain).

Henderson cites several contributing issues: the late integration of historical consultants and internal communication challenges. Furthermore, the game's technical readiness is still under development, requiring further bug fixes and gameplay adjustments. While these refinements are underway, some changes will take more time to implement. However, Henderson's sources suggest a Valentine's Day release on February 14th is now the target, indicating confidence in meeting this revised deadline.
