Magic: The Gathering - 5 New Cards from Tarkir: Dragonstorm

6 ImagesThese five cards form what's known as a "cycle," sharing common design elements across each of Magic's colors. They are all affordable, common-rarity creatures, each featuring an ability linked to one of Tarkir's three-color clans, and another that lets you convert mana into a color from that clan.

Wizards of the Coast Senior Game Designer Adam Prosak explains, "Three-color limited environments require ample mana fixing at all rarities. We aimed to make mana fixing accessible to many decks by introducing multiple designs focused on resolving mana issues. These creatures enable you to develop your board while simultaneously improving your mana situation—unlike other designs, such as tapped lands, which solely focus on mana production and can put you at a disadvantage."

"We wanted to showcase how these clans have evolved since players last saw them. From the action-oriented Jeskai monks to the Temur's use of Whispers magic, the protective and avenging Naga of the Sultai, the diverse military roles within the Mardu, and the Abzan clerics working to regrow the lost kin trees."
