Proton Mail is an email service developed by former CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research) employees, and it shows. These folks are brilliant. Their email service is incredibly secure. In fact, Proton Mail servers are safely housed in Switzerland, protected by the strictest Swiss privacy laws.
Of course, to start using the app, you'll need to create a Proton Mail email account. Creating an account is completely free and takes just a couple of minutes. However, it's crucial to spend enough time choosing a strong password and ensuring your backup email account is up-to-date.
When you open an account with Proton Mail, you'll receive 500 MB of free storage space, which you can increase by making a donation to the developers. As expected, the app offers all the standard features of a high-quality email client, along with a range of specific security features. For example, you can use Proton Mail to send password-protected emails or emails that self-destruct after a set period.
