Blizzard is incapable of running their own game: Diablo 3 event cannot be extended

Diablo 3 enthusiasts are currently enjoying the beloved "Fall of Tristram" event, which is set to conclude on February 1. However, some fans have expressed a desire for the event to remain in the game longer. In response to these requests, community manager pezradar clarified that extending the event is not feasible at this time. He stated, "I asked about Tristram and the possibility of extending it, but unfortunately [the event] is hard-coded and it's impossible to make server-side fixes."

Pezradar also addressed the delay of Season 34 of Call of Light, which has disrupted weekend plans for some players. He apologized, saying, "I'm sorry. It's not what I was hoping for. We were notified about 24 hours before we had to adjust the time. The team needs to create new code to ensure a smooth transition between seasons after problems with the automatic scheduler that ended [last 33rd] season early in early January." He further explained that the additional time would be used to implement and test new code, ensuring a smooth transfer of player progress. Pezradar acknowledged the need for better communication with players in the future, stating, "We can improve communication with players at earlier stages, and the team is aware of this for the future."

In other news, Wolcen Studio has announced Project Pantheon, a free-to-play combat role-playing game that incorporates elements of extraction shooter mechanics. The first closed alpha testing for players in Europe will begin on January 25, with North American players joining on February 1. Game director Andrei Cirkulete described the game, saying, "We've blended the tension and risk reward of an extraction shooter with the battle dynamics of combat role-playing games. Diablo and Escape from Tarkov seem to have a parenthood. We are eager to hear from the players." In Project Pantheon, players will assume the role of a messenger of Death, tasked with restoring order to a shattered world.
