Embarking on the Primitive weekly challenge in *Phasmophobia* might make you feel like you've been transported back to the Stone Age, but unlike our cave-dwelling ancestors, we've got ghosts to contend with. The challenge? Completing investigations without the crutch of electronics. It's tough, but definitely doable with the right approach.
The Primitive Challenge ranks among the most demanding weekly challenges in Phasmophobia. You're tasked with identifying the ghost and wrapping up your investigations at 10 Ridgeview Court without any electronic aids. This means you'll have to lean heavily on your intuition and deep understanding of ghost behaviors. To conquer this challenge, you must successfully complete three investigations at this house-style map, known for its straightforward layout and safer navigation.
Navigating the Primitive Challenge requires a keen understanding of the unique rules and the sparse equipment provided. Here's what you're working with—or rather, without:
No electronics means no Flashlights, DOTs Projectors, Video Cameras, or even Sanity Medication. But you start with a full Sanity meter, which offers some initial protection. Your arsenal includes two Tier 1 Crucifixes to ward off up to two ghost hunts, Tier 2 Firelights, and a full set of Tier 1 Incense for additional safety.
For evidence gathering, you're limited to two Tier 3 Ghost Writing books and two Tier 1 "glowstick" UV lights, which double as your light source and tool for ultraviolet evidence. Additionally, you have two Tier 1 thermometers to detect freezing temperatures.
Your strategy should focus on quickly locating the ghost, made easier by the heightened ghost activity in this challenge. Darkness increases the risk to your sanity, so speed is of the essence. An unconventional but risky method is using the Ouija Board found in the laundry room on the first floor. It can reveal the ghost's favorite room, but at a steep cost of 50% of your sanity. Always remember to say "Goodbye" to avoid triggering a Cursed Hunt.
To dive into the Primitive Challenge, select either Singleplayer or Multiplayer. Navigate to your Difficulty Settings above your profile ID, scroll to find 'Challenge Mode', and hit 'Apply'. Return to the main menu, select 10 Ridgeview Court on the map board, and remember, the challenge-specific loadout is non-negotiable. When ready, choose 'Ready Up' and 'Start' to begin your ghost-hunting adventure.
