The New Denpa Men is coming (back) to iOS and Android, bringing bizarre RPG action to mobile

The New Denpa Men is returning to mobile devices! This quirky creature-collecting RPG, a 3DS favorite that later graced the Nintendo Switch, is set for a mobile comeback on March 10th for iOS and Android. Could this mark a global release?

Given Nintendo's recent mobile expansion, a Switch-to-smartphone port felt inevitable. However, few anticipated it would be the wonderfully weird The New Denpa Men! Gematsu reports the iOS and Android launch date of March 10th. The original game pioneered AR use via the 3DS camera, a feature reportedly returning in this release.

For the uninitiated, The Denpa Men is an early 3DS title, an AR-based RPG where players collect the titular radio wave-dwelling creatures from the real world and battle them in dungeons.

While not a household name like Mario or Zelda, The Denpa Men franchise boasts a history on Nintendo platforms. This isn't developer Genius Sonority's first mobile foray either; they previously released The New Denpa Men on mobile before its Switch remaster. So, yes, we're potentially seeing a mobile rerelease of a Switch remaster of a mobile game.

Intriguingly, while the original The New Denpa Men was Japan-only, the Switch version enjoyed a global launch. This mobile release could finally bring the game to a worldwide audience.
