But building islands costs money, and you have several methods of earning it. Your main source of income is as a footballer – or, more precisely, a penalty-taker, in a goal where the goalkeeper has been replaced by a small target you must hit. 
Scoring is as easy as flicking your finger up the screen, but a couple of factors increase the difficulty. The first is the wind, which deflects your ball, and the second is the occasional moving target, which requires you to aim ahead like a clay pigeon shooter. 
Each successful shot wins you a prize. Sometimes this is simply a cash reward, giving you gold for renovations. But sometimes you get the opportunity to steal from a random opponent via a pairs-style minigame.

And you can improve your odds of hitting the target by spending gold on upgrades that slow the speed of moving targets and protect your pitch from wind. Or, you can enhance your steal and attack rewards, or build a field to protect your island.
Variety is a huge part of what makes Foxy’s Football Islands such a hot prospect, but the fun doesn’t stop there.
