Gears of War: E-Day Co-Developer People Can Fly Signs New Project With Sony, Codenamed Project Delta

People Can Fly, the acclaimed developer behind Bulletstorm and a co-developer of Gears of War: E-Day, has recently inked a new deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to work on a game codenamed Project Delta. According to a report from People Can Fly, Project Delta is set to be developed as a work-for-hire game, though specific details about the project remain under wraps.

This new project adds to People Can Fly's already bustling portfolio, which includes several other high-profile games in various stages of development. Among these are Project Gemini, a collaboration with Square Enix that faced layoffs last year, Project Echo with Krafton, and Project Red, which also appears to be linked with Sony. Additionally, the studio recently announced that Project Bison would be its final venture into VR gaming.

In recent months, People Can Fly has made significant adjustments to its project lineup. Last December, the studio paused development on Project Victoria and scaled back on Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, it cancelled Project Dagger, an action-adventure game planned in partnership with Take-Two Interactive.

Despite these changes, People Can Fly remains committed to an impressive slate of eight known projects, including the much-anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, developed in collaboration with The Coalition. While a release date for Gears of War: E-Day has yet to be announced, Project Gemini, the game developed with Square Enix, is slated for a 2026 release.
