King of Fighters ALLSTAR to Cease Operations

Netmarble's popular action RPG, King of Fighters ALLSTAR, is set to conclude its run this October. The official announcement, appearing on Netmarble's forums, confirmed the shutdown date as October 30th, 2024. Players will be disappointed to learn that in-game purchases have already been disabled, ceasing on June 26th, 2024.

The reasons behind this closure remain somewhat unclear. While the game enjoyed a successful six-year run, featuring numerous high-profile crossovers and consistently positive player reviews praising its animations and PvP, the developers hinted at a potential shortage of characters to adapt from the original King of Fighters series. However, this is likely only part of the explanation, with other contributing factors remaining undisclosed.

Recent performance issues, including optimization problems and unexpected crashes, also likely played a role. Despite these challenges, the game achieved millions of downloads across Google Play and the App Store.

Players still interested in experiencing King of Fighters ALLSTAR have approximately four months to do so before the servers shut down in October. Don't miss the chance to engage in legendary battles before the game's final curtain call.
