"Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Update 1.2 Adds Steam Workshop, Barber Shops"

by Victoria Mar 29,2025

Warhorse Studios has unveiled a major free update for *Kingdom Come: Deliverance II*—version 1.2, which brings two highly anticipated features: native mod support through Steam Workshop and a brand-new barber shop system.

The integration of Steam Workshop makes it easier than ever to download and install mods directly within the game, bypassing the need for third-party tools. This convenience, however, relies on mod creators uploading their work to Steam Workshop. Currently, only a select few mods are available, including:

  • Free Saving: This mod grants players unlimited saves by replenishing the "Saviour Schnapps" item whenever it's used or lost.
  • Helmet of Henry VIII: A mod that adds a historically inspired horned helmet to the game.
  • Tourist: This mod disables NPC reactions to trespassing, opening up access to otherwise restricted story locations.
  • Pebbles the Zebra: Transform your horse into a zebra with this unique visual effect.

Although the selection is currently limited, the modding community is poised to grow quickly. With over a thousand mods already on Nexus Mods, many creators are likely to share their work on both platforms. While Steam Workshop might not match Nexus Mods in scale, popular mods are expected to make their way there soon.

In addition to mod support, players can now visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to change their hairstyle or beard design. Visiting a barber grants a temporary boost to the protagonist's Charisma stat, regardless of the style chosen.

Update 1.2 offers much more than these new features. The extensive changelog available on the game’s official website reveals over a thousand fixes and improvements across nearly every aspect of the game. These enhancements include balancing adjustments, refined animations, and improved NPC behavior. For example, the crime system has been fine-tuned for greater accuracy.

Other noteworthy updates include:

  • Revised daily schedules for NPCs, making their routines more realistic.
  • Enhanced horse riding mechanics and horse trading systems.
  • Improved character visuals and overall performance, particularly in Kuttenberg (the largest city in the game) and during large-scale battles.

Warhorse Studios plans to provide more insights into these changes during a developer livestream next Thursday. The studio remains dedicated to supporting the game, with three paid DLC expansions scheduled for release in spring, summer, and winter.

With the addition of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options, and numerous gameplay refinements, *Kingdom Come: Deliverance II* continues to evolve, providing players with an even richer medieval experience.
