The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep – A New Animated Adventure

Coastal Conflicts on the Continent

Netflix's Witcher Animated Movie Comes FebruaryNetflix Tudum, the official news source, confirms the release date of The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep for February 11, 2025. This animated feature is adapted from Andrzej Sapkowski's short story, "A Little Sacrifice," from Sword of Destiny.

The story unfolds in a coastal village, where a centuries-long conflict between humans and merfolk compels a kingdom to enlist Geralt's services. This time, Geralt faces a unique challenge, trading typical monsters for the aquatic menace of the merpeople.

Returning to voice Geralt is Doug Cockle. Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra reprise their roles as Jaskier and Yennefer, respectively. New to the cast is Christina Wren (Will Trent), voicing the character Essi Daven.

Andrzej Sapkowski acts as creative consultant, while Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin (writers for the live-action series) pen the script. Kang Hei Chul, storyboard artist for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, directs the film.

A Season 1 Interlude

Netflix's Witcher Animated Movie Comes FebruaryThe film's timeline slots neatly between episodes 5 and 6 of the live-action series' first season. Following Geralt and Yennefer's meeting in Rinde after the Djinn incident, Geralt accepts a new contract to resolve a coastal monster problem.

The film's location is likely situated between Redania and Temeria. Considering the source material, Bremervoord City in Temeria, ruled by Duke Agloval, is a strong possibility. However, the extent to which the film adheres to the short story remains to be seen.
