Pokemon Company Addresses Prismatic Evolutions TCG Shortage

The Pokémon Company has officially acknowledged the widespread shortages of the eagerly awaited Scarlet and Violet — Prismatic Evolutions set, expressing gratitude for the patience of Pokémon TCG fans. This marks the first time the company has publicly addressed the supply issues surrounding this highly anticipated expansion.

Announced in early November 2024, with pre-orders opening shortly after, Prismatic Evolutions is set to launch internationally on January 17, 2025. Designed to kick off the new year on a high note for the Pokémon TCG community, the set has unfortunately faced significant global shortages, impacting fans in the United States and beyond.

Responding to weeks of fan feedback and complaints on social media, The Pokémon Company released a statement to IGN, acknowledging the difficulties in obtaining the new products. "We understand this inconvenience can be disappointing for fans, and we are actively working to print more of the impacted Pokémon TCG products as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity to address this," a spokesperson explained.

Pokémon TCG Prismatic Evolutions Reprints Are Coming Soon

The Pokémon Company confirmed that reprints of Prismatic Evolutions are currently in production and will be distributed to licensed outlets across the country in the near future. While no specific timeline was provided, the company aims to alleviate the shortages as swiftly as possible. Although some fans and social media users have pointed fingers at scalpers, The Pokémon Company attributes the shortages to "high demand," without further elaboration.

More Pokémon TCG Prismatic Evolutions Products Are Also on the Horizon

In addition to the reprints, The Pokémon Company announced that new Prismatic Evolutions products will be available in the coming months. These were initially teased during the set's announcement in November 2024. Fans can look forward to the following releases:
