HP has unveiled the highly anticipated 2025 Omen Max 16 gaming laptop, now available for preorder. This new flagship model promises top-tier performance with the latest Intel Core Ultra 9 HX-series processor and the GeForce RTX 5080 mobile GPU. Preorders are set to begin shipping on March 13, positioning the Omen Max 16 as a premium offering alongside HP's standard Omen and the slim Omen Transcend series.
Priced at $2,699.99, the launch edition of the HP Omen Max 16 is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, a processor designed for superior performance compared to the efficiency-focused Core Ultra 9 185H. This base configuration includes a 16" QHD+ display with a 240Hz refresh rate, 32GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB M.2 SSD. At this price point, the Omen Max 16 is a compelling alternative to the similarly specced Razer Blade 16, which costs about $500 more.
HP anticipates that the Omen Max 16 will start shipping in early to mid-March, aligning with the release timeline for the RTX 50-series mobile GPUs. While benchmarks are not yet available, expectations are high for this new hardware.
Razer has also opened preorders for its 2025 lineup of gaming laptops, including the Razer Blade 16 and Razer Blade 18. Available directly from Razer.com, these models will feature the latest Intel and Ryzen processors and the new RTX 5000-series mobile GPUs in three variants: RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090. Preordering offers the added benefit of bonus accessories, depending on the model chosen.
Renowned for their exceptional build quality, Razer Blade laptops are crafted from a single piece of aluminum, maintaining a slim and lightweight profile. Razer's proprietary cooling system, utilizing a vacuum-sealed, liquid-filled copper vapor chamber, efficiently manages heat, allowing for the thin design. This meticulous engineering contributes to the premium pricing of Razer laptops compared to other mainstream brands.
