Starfield's journey continues with exciting updates planned for 2025. Discover what Bethesda has in store and how they've addressed player feedback since launch.
Starfield players have much to anticipate. The official Starfield Twitter (X) account announced on March 7, 2025, that the team is actively developing exciting new content for the game. While specific details remain under wraps, the post promises significant additions for 2025, assuring fans that their feedback is being carefully considered. The developers' confident tone suggests a substantial update is on the way.
Game director Todd Howard's June 2024 interview with MrMattyPlays, hinting at potential yearly DLC for Starfield, adds further weight to the speculation that this announcement may foreshadow another expansion.
Launched in 2023 to critical acclaim and mixed reviews, Starfield nonetheless achieved remarkable sales success, becoming one of the year's best-sellers. Initial feedback highlighted a departure from the experiences offered by previous Bethesda titles like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout.
Since release, Bethesda has consistently released updates to improve gameplay mechanics and add new content. However, the September 2024 DLC, Shattered Space, received a "Mostly Negative" reception on Steam, with criticisms focusing on repetitive fetch quests, a short main storyline, and a lack of engaging new enemies and gameplay mechanics.
Despite this setback, Starfield Creative Producer Tim Lamb reassured fans in a 2024 interview with The Gamer that the team aims for Starfield's longevity to rival that of Skyrim, promising continued post-launch content.
With the latest developer update, Starfield fans have reason for optimism in 2025. Starfield is available now for Xbox Series X|S and PC. Stay tuned for more updates!
