Ted Lasso Season 4 on the Way, Jason Sudeikis Confirms

by Sarah Mar 25,2025

Exciting news for fans of the heartwarming Apple TV+ series, *Ted Lasso*—Season 4 is officially in the works, as announced by star and producer Jason Sudeikis. During a chat on the New Heights sports podcast hosted by NFL brothers Jason and Travis Kelce, Sudeikis shared that the team is actively writing the next installment of the beloved show. A snippet from the podcast episode captures the moment the Kelce brothers pressed Sudeikis for an update on the series following the conclusion of Season 3 in summer 2023.

“That’s what we’re writing. We’re writing Season 4 now,” Sudeikis revealed. “That’s the official word, yeah. Ted’s coaching a women’s team.” This news marks the first solid update on the continuation of the project in nearly two years, much to the relief of fans eager to see more of the feel-good soccer series. While details about whether Season 4 will be the final one or its setting remain under wraps, even Travis Kelce couldn’t coax more information out of Sudeikis about a potential return to the U.S. “Yeah, that’s too many questions, and that’s only because I don’t know,” Sudeikis humorously admitted.

According to Deadline, negotiations are underway with Juno Temple, who plays Keeley, to return for the new season, while Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift are already confirmed to reprise their roles as Rebecca, Roy, and Leslie, respectively. Sources indicate that filming for the first episode of Season 4 is slated to begin in Kansas City before Ted heads back to the UK, with production aiming to start in July.

Apple TV+ is actively working to reignite interest in *Ted Lasso*, though no specific release date or plot details have been revealed yet. The show’s official X/Twitter account playfully acknowledged its unexpected hiatus with a recent post: “Finally found the dang password to this thing. Sorry y’all. What’d I miss?”

The last update on *Ted Lasso* came in summer 2024, when a report from Deadline hinted that Season 4 was on the verge of receiving the green light.
