In a world brimming with video games, finding a truly unique title can be a challenge. My Father Lied, however, stands out with its captivating narrative and intriguing blend of mystery and Lovecraftian elements. This puzzle adventure isn't just a game; it's a story waiting to be uncovered.
The game's creation story is as compelling as the game itself. Ahmed Alameen, the developer, initially pursued a career in writing and filmmaking. A collaborative game project with a college friend fizzled, but the story remained. Alameen, driven by his vision, independently learned 3D modeling and Unreal Engine, bringing his concept to fruition. Even the game's title was a collaborative effort with his wife.
My Father Lied plunges players into a world steeped in ancient Mesopotamian myths, secrets, puzzles, and unexpected twists. Players assume the role of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: What happened to her father? The answer, as the story unfolds, is far from straightforward.
Blending 7,000 years of Mesopotamian culture with modern storytelling, My Father Lied offers a unique narrative experience. The gameplay features simple point-and-click mechanics, stunning 2D visuals, and immersive 360-degree images.

My Father Lied launches on PC on May 30th, 2025. Android and iOS versions are slated for release in Q3 2025. For more information, visit the official Kickstarter or Steam pages. The game is not yet available on the Google Play Store, but its arrival is anticipated following the PC release. Stay tuned for further updates.
