The public test server for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has now gone live, offering players an early glimpse into the eagerly awaited Update 7.0 and its associated patch notes. In a detailed community post, publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive have outlined that the preliminary patch notes for the PTS version include most of the features planned for Update 7.0. However, they caution that the final version of the patch notes may differ, as the team continues to refine and fix bugs.
This update is exclusively available for PC players participating in the PTS, and it brings a wealth of new content and enhancements. Update 7.0 introduces a new PvE mission called Exfiltration, a new secondary weapon—the Inferno Pistol—available for the Vanguard, Sniper, and Heavy classes, and introduces prestige ranks in PvE, along with private PvP lobbies.
For fans of customization, Update 7.0 does not disappoint. It adds new colors such as Volupus Pink and Thousand Sons Blue, along with options for Bulwark cloth and hands recoloring. Additionally, customization rewards in PvP have been boosted by 50%. The PTS also introduces new champion skins: an Imperial Fists Champion for the Tactical class and a Space Wolves Champion for the Vanguard class.
Significant balance changes are also part of this update, with an extended weapon arsenal in PvE allowing all classes to access a broader range of weapons. Notably, the Assault class can now use the Power Sword without needing mods. Players are encouraged to review the detailed patch notes to understand the full scope of weapon tweaks.
A notable gameplay improvement addresses a long-standing issue on the Inferno Operation. Now, if a player reaches the assembly area in the final stage, other players will be automatically teleported there after a short delay, preventing griefing and ensuring smoother gameplay.
Extended Weapon arsenal in PvE: All classes now have a larger weapon choice.
Heavy Bolt Rifle: Reworked versions include changes to magazine capacity, ammo reserve, accuracy, range, and the addition of scopes.
Added a maximum cap to restore fade HP per action and a max target to restore health per action to specific weapons.
This update marks a significant step forward for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, promising to enhance the gaming experience with new content, improved balance, and crucial bug fixes. Players are encouraged to dive into the PTS and provide feedback to help shape the final version of Update 7.0.
