16-Bit JRPG Vay Returns Revamped on Android

SoMoGa Inc. has unleashed a modernized version of Vay on Android, iOS, and Steam. This classic 16-bit RPG, originally released in Japan in 1993 on the Sega CD, has received a stunning visual overhaul, an intuitive new interface, and added controller support. Originally developed by Hertz and localized for the US by Working Designs, Vay's spirit lives on, following its 2008 iOS re-release.

This enhanced Vay boasts over 100 enemies, a dozen formidable bosses, and exploration across 90 diverse areas. A standout feature is the customizable difficulty levels, allowing players to tailor their experience. Additional improvements include an auto-save function and Bluetooth controller compatibility. Players can acquire new equipment, level up characters to unlock powerful spells, and even utilize an AI system for autonomous combat.

The narrative unfolds in a distant galaxy scarred by a millennium-long interstellar war. A malfunctioning colossal machine, designed for destruction, crashes into the technologically underdeveloped planet Vay, causing widespread devastation. The player embarks on a thrilling quest to rescue their kidnapped wife, a journey that could ultimately save the world. Attacked on their wedding day, the protagonist sets out on an epic adventure to confront the destructive war machines.

Vay masterfully blends nostalgic charm with modern enhancements. Faithful to its JRPG heritage, characters gain experience and gold through random encounters. The game features nearly ten minutes of captivating animated cutscenes, available in both English and Japanese audio.

Download Vay's revamped edition now from the Google Play Store for $5.99. This premium title promises a captivating adventure. Be sure to check out our other gaming news as well.
