Marvel Contest of Champions is set to thrill players with a slew of exciting updates in April, featuring the introduction of the captivating new champion, Spider-Woman. Alongside her, another distinct champion, Lumatrix, will be making an entrance, promising a diverse gaming experience.

Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions

Spider-Woman, whose real name is Jessica Drew, faced a life-altering event as a child when she was exposed to uranium near her home. In an attempt to save her, her father, a brilliant geneticist, conducted an experimental procedure by injecting her with a concoction of spider DNA. After a long recovery, Jessica emerged not only healed but endowed with extraordinary spider-like abilities, leading her to adopt the identity of Spider-Woman. Fans can look forward to adding her to their roster starting April 17th.

However, before Spider-Woman's arrival, players will encounter Lumatrix on April 9th. This formidable assassin, created by the Founders, is known for his lethal efficiency and unique light-based powers, designed specifically for infiltration and assassination missions.

What Else Is New?

On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition," delves into a gripping storyline where Carina suffers severe injuries after an encounter with Ouroborus forces. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom aligns with the Fantastic Four to combat the spreading corruption of Chronoserpent, introducing a new villain, Lotan, into the mix.

Additionally, a new Event Quest, "Spy Games," launches on April 9th and will run through May 7th. In this quest, Black Widow investigates the mysterious Eidols, enlisting the help of Spider-Woman to unravel the enigma.

Dark Phoenix returns in the Side Quest titled "Dark Bounties," challenging players to hunt down champions marked with bounties for rewarding prizes.

The Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector also makes a comeback, encouraging players to assemble their most powerful Saga champions to battle for Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
