Star Wars: Hunters Announces Shutdown Even Before Turning One!

Star Wars: Hunters is set to shut down before reaching its first anniversary, but it will still celebrate that milestone before closing its doors. The question remains: is it worth celebrating the anniversary of a game on its way out?

When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?

The servers for Star Wars: Hunters are scheduled to shut down on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the game's run after just nine months. Players have until April 15th to wrap up Season 5.

Zynga, the game's developer and publisher, is releasing a final content update on April 15th, introducing the last new Support Hunter, Tuya, available for free. On the same day, in-game purchases will be disabled.

Ranked Mode will continue until the servers go offline, and events from the season will be rerun. Players with unspent Crystals should use them before the shutdown, as no refunds will be issued.

It Isn’t Shocking

The closure of Star Wars: Hunters may not come as a surprise to many. Launched after numerous delays and limited beta testing in the SEA and ANZAC regions, the game struggled from the start. The lack of major console support and a tepid reception didn't help its cause.

From a design perspective, the game missed an opportunity by not leveraging the iconic characters of the Star Wars universe, opting instead for generic original characters.

If you've uninstalled the game but want to give it one last go, it's still available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown.
