Don't Nod, the French studio behind the acclaimed Life is Strange series, has released the first chapter of their new narrative-driven thriller. Dive into Tape 1 now, with Tape 2 launching free for all owners on April 15th.
Unveiled in 2023, the game plunges players into the lives of a close-knit group of friends irrevocably shattered during the summer of 1995. Twenty-seven years later, the specter of that summer returns, unleashing unforeseen and chilling consequences.
Blending nostalgic charm with the intensity of a psychological thriller, the game draws inspiration from classics like It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer. The narrative is cleverly divided into two parts: Bloom and Rage. As of February 18th, only Bloom, the first half of this haunting mystery, is available.
The Tape, the second part, originally scheduled for March, has been slightly delayed until April 15th to allow for further polishing.
The review embargo has lifted, revealing a promising start. OpenCritic currently reports an average critic score of 74/100.
