Hotta Studios' upcoming 3D open-world RPG, Neverness to Everness, is gearing up for its initial closed beta test. Unfortunately, participation is limited to players residing in mainland China. However, interested parties worldwide can still follow the game's progress as it approaches launch.
Gematsu recently highlighted new lore details, offering a glimpse into the game's narrative. Those familiar with the Eibon city trailers (see below) will likely find the additions unsurprising. The updated information reveals a more comedic tone and showcases the blend of the strange and ordinary within the game's Hetherau setting.
Hotta Studios, a subsidiary of Perfect World (creators of the successful Tower of Fantasy), is venturing into a 3D RPG landscape increasingly characterized by urban settings. Neverness to Everness, however, distinguishes itself with unique features.
A standout element is the open-world driving mechanic. Players can experience the thrill of high-speed city driving, customizing and purchasing various vehicles. However, realistic crash physics add a layer of challenge.
Upon release, Neverness to Everness will encounter strong competition from titles such as MiHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero and NetEase's Ananta (formerly Project Mugen), both of which occupy a similar genre space.
