Marvel Rivals: Swift Shader Compilation Solution Debuts

by Hunter Feb 10,2025

Many Marvel Rivals players are experiencing extended shader compilation times on launch. This guide offers a workaround to significantly reduce this delay.

Addressing Slow Shader Compilation in Marvel Rivals

Game launches, especially online titles, often involve various processes. However, Marvel Rivals PC players report lengthy shader compilation times, sometimes exceeding several minutes. Shaders are crucial programs managing lighting and color in 3D environments. Incorrect shader installation can cause various problems.

A community-sourced solution effectively addresses this issue:

  1. Access Nvidia Control Panel: Locate and open your Nvidia control panel.
  2. Adjust Shader Cache Size: Navigate to the global settings and find the Shader Cache Size option.
  3. Set a Lower Value: Set the Shader Cache Size to a value less than or equal to your VRAM. Available options are typically 5GB, 10GB, and 100GB; select the closest value to your VRAM.

This adjustment significantly reduces shader compilation time, often to just a few seconds, and also resolves "Out of VRAM memory" errors.

While this workaround is effective, players may prefer to await an official patch from NetEase. As of this writing, the developer hasn't publicly addressed the problem. To avoid extended loading times, consider implementing this solution.

Marvel Rivals is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
